“There are no real reasons only excuses.”
As an instructor of movement, stretch, and dance, I have heard every excuse in the book. Bad weather, such as rain and cold, top the list. I even once had a student who cancelled class because he had to babysit a house!
It’s often hard to understand how people can come and enjoy a class or workshop, tell me how great they feel and how much they loved the class, AND then never step foot through the door again. Many people know what is healthy and good for them, but they don’t follow through.
Just do it! But it’s not always that easy, is it?
Think of something you know you should be doing but don’t do. You may want to move more, exercise, stretch, eat more fruits and vegetables, improve your nutrition, reduce stress, enjoy being creative, spend time in nature, and/or feed your soul.
Here are the three steps that can help you change and become successful in reaching your goals:
Make a Commitment: Obligate yourself to achieving a goal when your excuses, patterns, or reasons start to get in the way. Find discipline deep within and stick to your plan.
Become Consistent: When we are consistent in following the routine needed to keep a commitment we stick to it.
Embrace Change: Change happens when we shift and follow our inner knowing instead of listening to our feelings and thoughts.
Follow the formula: Commitment + Consistency = Change
Stand in Integrity. You are your word; do what you say you are going to do!
It’s a new day to be a new you!
There will always be a reason to……
List all your reasons to do what you know to do
