What is a miracle, anyway? Divine intervention in human affairs? I believe that happens. But let’s look a little more deeply into this. A miracle might appear as an unexpected remission in a serious health condition. Or it could be something simpler, such as surprise money that arrives just as a bill comes due.
Whether dramatic or mundane, miracles are unexpected blessings that fill a need, satisfy a deep longing, or resolve a situation. A miracle is evidence of an unanticipated positive flow of energy that shows up for us. Perhaps this energy will manifest strictly as Divine intervention. Other times, it can manifest as our co-creative effort with soul guidance in harmony with the Divine.
Our soul is our true, complete, energetic self, not the human body with mind, emotions and personality. It is a repository for love, compassion, gratitude, generosity and purity. Our soul is part of God. It is our deepest, wisest self. It knows who we are and what is best for us, more so than our conscious minds know. It can be considered standing by, waiting for us to seek it out. It does not interfere until we reach inward for its wisdom.
Our day-to-day existence tends to operate from the ego or mind—until we learn to summon soul wisdom. We are living and learning in a world of duality, and we are practicing co-creativity. Our efforts may be directed towards achieving what others have achieved, what makes us feel special, or perhaps to feel accepted. Functioning at this level generally produces limited results, but we learn from our efforts. Some things work for us, and others do not. We get to try something different. When we start to long for something more substantial, the vibration of our soul is summoned. When we are in harmony with the soul’s vibration, the energy that goes out from us is stronger and more expansive. We attract what we need to stay on our soul path, achieve and expand.
How does this happen? The simple explanation is that the expanded vibrations from us match up with vibrations “out there” that are in harmony with our deeper needs. Think peace, joy, growth and expansion. Think Law of Attraction. Like attracts like. What we send out comes back to us. When the vibrations going out from us are in harmony with our soul and our soul path, the responses can feel awesome.
The vibrations from our soul seek a connection with all other vibrations. It finds a connection with those who are a match. That connection can be with plants, animals and anything in God’s creation. We do not have to be consciously aware of all of this. Sometimes we are. Sometimes, we catch a glimmer. Sometimes, we reach other vibrations so in tune with our specific needs that we receive a response, an answer, or a completion, and our needs of the moment are filled, often from an unexpected source. (Remember the wider, stronger vibrational range we send out when we involve the soul?)
We call these responses blessings. They are often unexpected and powerful enough that we call them miracles. What prevents us from receiving blessings and miracles all the time? Nothing. Nothing except our willingness to pray deeply and sincerely and then wait with faith for the response. Nothing except our ability to accept what may differ from what we expect. Nothing except our willingness to accept that there will likely be a greater, richer, more satisfying, and complete resolution than we can imagine. Nothing, as long as we are really able to give up control over the nature of the results.
Open your heart. Quiet your mind. Do your part of the work, then expect a miracle!
